The Friends of the Institute for Palestine Studies (FIPS) was founded in 1986 as a 501 (c) 3 private foundation. Its objectives include, among other things, undertaking research for scholarly works on the history of Palestine, Palestinian art, culture, and politics or on the affairs of the Middle East for dissemination by the Institute for Palestine Studies throughout the United States and elsewhere; organizing, conducting and/or sponsoring educational activities designed to enhance understanding of issues of public and international interest.
