Résumé

تتناول وثائق المجلد الأول معظم فترة الانتداب البريطاني على خلفية الحرب العالمية الأولى، ويلاحظ أن الوثائق المختارة تتناول في معظمها النواحي الدبلوماسية أو السياسية لماجريات القضية من دون النواحي الجهادية أو العسكرية. ومما يزيد في مواءمة نشر هذه الوثائق هو التقاطع المثير بين تواريخ صدور الوثائق وبين الذكرى السنوية خلال السنوات الثلاث أو الأربع المقبلة لبعض أهم هذه التواريخ أو الأحداث التي توثق الوثائق لها: من الذكرى المئوية لمحادثات حسين – مكماهون (1916-2016)، إلى الذكرى المئوية لمعاهدة سايكس – بيكو (1916 - 2016)، ووعد بلفور (1917-2017) إلى الذكرى السبعينية لقرار التقسيم الصادر عن هيئة الأمم المتحدة (1947-2017) إلى الذكرى السبعينية لحرب 1948 (1948-2018).

À propos de l’auteur

Amin Musa Aql, born in Jerusalem in 1900, he studies Law in Jerusalem and worked with Mufti Haj Amin Al-Husseini during the time of the British Mandate. He was arrested for two years by the Mandate authorities; he worked as a lawyer and judge in Jaffa; then became Secretary of the National Committee of Jaffa in 1948; and was elected a Minister in the All-Palestine Government of 1948. He worked at the Political Administration Dept. of the Arab League, died in London in December 1970 and was buried in Cairo.

Walid Khalidi was born in Jerusalem, he was educated at the University of London and Oxford University.  He taught at Oxford, the American University of Beirut, and Harvard.  Khalidi is a cofounder of the Institute for Palestine Studies (IPS, Beirut), of which he was general secretary until recently.  He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a cofounder of the Royal Scientific Society, Amman.  He currently serves as President of the Institute for Palestine Studies (IPSUS, Washington, DC).
