International Day to Protect Education from Attack

Event | On May 29, 2020, the United Nations General Assembly established the International Day to Protect Education from Attack to be observed on September 9 of each year, stressing the right to education for all and the importance of ensuring safe and enabling educational environments during humanitarian emergencies. The General Assembly has also strongly condemned all attacks on educational institutions, and the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres called for a safe and risk-free environment for students to acquire the knowledge and skills they need in the future.
