Highlight | On this day, 33 years ago, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) declared itself a resistance movement in a statement distributed in Gaza. This turned the Muslim Brotherhood, led by the martyr Shaykh Ahmad Yasin, from "traditional Islam", seeking to "Islamize" society before devoting itself to fighting the Israeli occupation, to "jihadist Islam", playing a prominent role in resisting the occupation and sacrificing hundreds of its leaders and cadres.
