Arab Liberation Army Organized

Event | Following its rejection of UN Resolution 181 (Partition Plan), the League of Arab States undertook to organize a force of Arab volunteers called the Arab Liberation Army (ALA), under the command of guerrilla leader Fawzi al-Qawuqji. The first ALA volunteers fought their first battles against British and Zionist forces in northern Palestine on 8 January 1948.
