Highlight | Jerusalem is the spiritual and political capital of the Palestinian people. Since 1967, the Israeli occupation authorities have sought to expand Jewish settlements in the city, and reduce its Palestinian population by denying them building permits, confiscating or refusing to renew their Jerusalem identity documents, and neglecting municipal services in Arab neighborhoods.
