Document | On 8 April 8 1948, Abdel Qader al-Husseini, commander of the Army of the Holy War, was killed in the battle for the village of al-Qastal, overlooking the road between Jaffa and Jerusalem. He was buried the next day in a mass funeral attended by thousands of Palestinians.
