Place | Iqrit is located in the Upper Galilee, a few kilometers from the border of Lebanon. Its population in 1944-1945 was estimated at 490 people, most of whom were Christians. Zionist forces occupied the village on 31 October 1948 and expelled its residents promising them that their eviction would be temporary. Settlements were later established on Iqrit’s lands and the villagers were not allowed to return.
