Biography | Starting in 1909, Abdallah Mukhlis began writing articles for Arabic and Turkish newspapers and magazines. His scholarly interests were focused on Arab-Islamic heritage. In 1927, Mukhlis was elected a corresponding member of the Arab Academy in Damascus, and in 1938, he was appointed general director of the Islamic Waqf board in Palestine. Mukhlis was a lover of freedom, an opponent of tyranny, and a supporter of women’s struggle for their rights.
