In light of recent statements by former Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon, accusing the current Israeli leadership of pursuing policies of “occupation, annexation, and ethnic cleansing” and revealing intentions to expel Palestinians from northern Gaza to reestablish Jewish settlements there, the true objectives of Israel’s war on Gaza have come into sharper focus. This war, rooted in aims of annexation, settlement expansion, and genocide, is manifested through deliberate killing and the systematic destruction of essential life infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.
The Institute for Palestine Studies invites you to attend a seminar titled: “Gaza 1948–2024: From Ongoing Nakba to Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing.”
The seminar will analyze Israel’s current policies in Gaza within a comprehensive historical and legal framework, beginning with the establishment of the Gaza Strip after the Nakba of 1948. It will examine successive Israeli policies treating Gaza as a political, demographic, and geographic issue. Additionally, the seminar will address the legal and ethical contexts for understanding the evolution of ethnic cleansing and genocide policies, with a special focus on Palestine.
The seminar will be held on Thursday, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM Jerusalem time (8:00 AM to 10:30 AM EST), via Zoom, and will be broadcast on various social media platforms of the Palestinian Studies Institute: X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, YouTube and IPS website.
