Highlight | Rashidiyya Refugee Camp is the largest Palestinian camp in the Tyre region in southern Lebanon, and the closest to the shores of Palestine. Its first nucleus was established in 1949, and most of its residents came from villages in northern Palestine. The camp was occupied by Israeli forces during their invasion of Lebanon in the summer of 1982, after fierce battles fought by its Palestinian defenders.
