Thematic Chronology | Between 1919 and 1928, Palestinians held seven national congresses, during which their representatives discussed how to confront the Zionist project supported by the British Mandate. These congresses can be considered early forerunners of the Palestine National Council, which convened in May 1964 and announced the formation of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
