Biography | Muhammad Izzat Darwaza represented the city of Nablus in the General Syrian Congress that was held in Damascus in March 1920. He was elected the secretary of the conference. In August 1932, he was one of the founders of the Arab Independence Party, which considered the British Mandate the source of the country's ills. After the Nakba, he settled in Damascus and devoted his time to writing. He left a number of important references, including a biography extracted from his diary, edited and introduced by Walid al-Khalidi.
