Sophie Halaby (1905-1997)

Bibliography | Sophie Halaby was one of the pioneers of visual arts in Palestine and the Arab world. She studied art in Paris. After returning to Jerusalem, she worked as a teacher at Schmidt's Girls College, and participated in the national struggle by publishing critical drawings against the policies of the British Mandate that deferred to the ambitions of the Zionist movement in Palestine.
