Biography | Omar al-Bitar was one of the most prominent national figures in the city of Jaffa, and one of the most influential, especially among the working class. He was known for his generosity and loyalty to his friends. Although he remained in the ranks of the "oppositionists" against Mufti Muhammad Amin al-Husseini's leadership, he sought to behave in a way that was almost above partisan politics.
