Biography | On this day, 15 years ago, Yusra al-Barbari passed away. She was a dedicated nationalist figure and a social activist. In 1949, she was the first female university graduate in the Gaza Strip. She played a prominent role in establishing and heading the Women's Union in Gaza and served as executive secretary of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in the Gaza Strip.
