Jerusalem Quarterly, Winter 2023
Date:
December 19 2023

After 7 October, it has become clear that both Tufan al-Aqsa and Israel’s bombardment and starvation of Gaza – as well as intimidation and censorship of ’48 Palestinians and intensified state and settler violence in the West Bank – are intimately linked to the century-long project of Zionist colonization. Contributions in this issue of the Jerusalem Quarterly address various aspects of Israeli efforts to control, displace, and erase Palestinians, as well as the failure of diplomatic efforts to bring about a different reality. Meanwhile, two Letters from Jerusalem profile efforts to preserve Gaza’s past, the precious material and documentary remains of its rich history and culture, despite the multiple threats arrayed against it.
