Document | On this day in 1988, Yasir Arafat addressed the UN General assembly which moved its session from New York to Geneva to hear his speech. The PLO chairman demanded Israel’s withdrawal from all Palestinian territories occupied in 1967, to place them under temporary UN supervision and to convene an international peace conference.
