Thematic Chronology | Since it was passed on February 12, 1958, the Basic Law: The Knesset, which included the rule that a representative pledges "loyalty to the State of Israel," the Knesset has passed several amendments aimed at restricting the representation of Palestinian Arabs who are citizens of the State of Israel, such as the amendment that ensures the exclusion of Arab electoral candidates, and the amendment that allows the Knesset, in some cases, to dismiss its Arab members.
