Thematic Chronology | On June 5, 1967, Israel launched a blitz attack on Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, defeating its armies before it occupied the Sinai desert, the Gaza Strip, the Golan Heights, and Jordan River's west bank. The defeat, which became known as The Naksa (Setback), had direct ramifications on the Palestinian level, represented mainly the liberation of the Palestinian national struggle from the restrictions imposed by official Arab guardianship. The strengthening of the direction to ensure that the Palestinian people rely on themselves through armed struggle to liberate their homeland.
