Highlight | Following the adoption of the Palestine partition resolution in November 29, 1947, the Zionist leadership took a decision to implement an ethnic cleansing scheme. On April 4, 1948, the implementation of the plan known as Plan Dalet began. The Irgun and Stern gangs launched an attack on the village of Deir Yasin, west of Jerusalem, on the ninth of April. In the attack more than a hundred Palestinian men, women, children and elderly were killed, followed by the destruction of a large number of their homes.
