Biography | The most prominent Palestinian military leader before the Nakba. He followed in the footsteps of his father, Musa Kazim Husseini, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestinian Arab Conference, and participated in fighting the Zionist forces during the events of the Great Palestinian Rebellion of 1936. He became the Commander-in-Chief of the “Army of Holy War” forces. He was martyred on April 8, 1948 while defending al-Qastal village, which was a strategic location overlooking the main Jerusalem and Jaffa road.
