FREE ISSUE: Journal of Palestine Studies, Winter 2020
Date:
April 21, 2020

The Journal of Palestine Studies is excited to announce the release of JPS 194, which is free to all readers through June. This issue features the second of a seminal two-part study on the Peel Commission in which Laila Parsons uncovers recently declassified material concerning secret testimony to the commission.

In addition, this issue features a special report on Israel’s exploitation of the Dead Sea in contravention of international law. Authors Aseil Abu-Baker and Marya Farah focus on the Israeli government’s exclusion of Palestinians from opportunities to benefit from the mineral riches of their native resources. JPS 194 also offers a contribution by Ben White to our occasional series on the conflation of anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism. The essay examines Israel’s efforts to smear Palestine advocacy as anti-Semitic.

The Journal is especially proud to be running reviews of two 2019 Palestinian Book Award winners in this issue: Noura Erakat’s Justice for Some: Law and the Question of Palestine (Stanford University) and Andrew Ross’ Stone Men: The Palestinians Who Built Israel (Verso Books).
