Abstract

This work discusses the Israeli air force in its capacity as the strike force of the Israeli military in its wars against the Arabs and as the recipient of 50% of Israel’s military budget. It provides a historical account of the origin and development of the Israeli air force and an assessment of its performance in Arab-Israeli wars on all fronts, with a breakdown of numbers of aircraft participating and their losses. It presents the technical specifications of all types of weapons systems, including fighters, bombers, helicopters, and training aircraft, radar systems, electronic interference equipment, missiles, and anti-tank guns.
