This study deals with Arab oil and the Palestine problem since 1948. It focuses on the evolution of the Arab position on oil, between those who advocate using income from oil in support of Arab steadfastness and those who advocate total nationalization of American interests in the region. The study also tackles the issue of the development of the Arab oil states' economies and their increased vulnerability toward the West. It illustrates the factors that can alleviate, gradually, the restrictions imposed on the oil states by economic and social development, for the purpose of using oil as a weapon in the battle against Zionist colonization, and the extent of the link between the progress of the Palestine problem, at the military and political levels, and the liberation of Arab oil from external exploitation.
