Abstract
Since the outbreak of the first Intifada in 1987, Palestinian children and adolescents were at the forefront of events in the Palestinian arena. The symbol "children of stone" became a familiar term in the mass media, but it was not possible to reduce their lives to this slogan. Psychologist Sylvie Mansour seeks to comprehend the ordinary lives of Palestinian children and adolescents. This book is the outcome of a study trip she took to the occupied territories, in which she narrates the natural history of the children growing up at the rhythm of the Intifada. Through participant observation, interviews and questionnaires, she tries to uncover the psychological trauma caused by suffering and to do whatever possible to heal the wounds.
