Abstract

This book represents an extensive investigation of the Golan issue as well as an exploratory political study of the Syrian-Israeli conflict. It presents the historical background to the conflict by analyzing three situations that shed light on Israeli and Syrian policies towards one another during the 1949-1967 period. The study also analyzes Syrian and Israeli policies towards the Golan after the June 1967 war. Finally, it addresses the negotiations that occurred from 1991-1996.
