Abstract
This research probes the transformations that affected the family and kinship relations, and value systems of successive Palestinian generations in the Diaspora after over fifty years of uprootedness. It aims at determining the impact of uprooting, exile and scattering that befell Palestinians of all walks of life, on kinship relations and the structure of the Palestinian family, on the social, economic, and political levels. The study is based upon a comparison of the experiences of two samples taken from the largest two Palestinian concentration centers in host countries, those of Lebanon and Syria. It is an important scientific contribution to the study of the Arab family in general.
