نبذة مختصرة:

Deema Dalloul, a twenty-year-old Palestinian writer from Gaza, has been writing letters throughout the ongoing genocide. She has published several of these with the Institute for Palestine Studies (IPS) as part of the Letters from Gaza series featured on the institute’s blog, Palestine Square. In this essay, IPS’s Laura Albast shares how she came to know Dalloul and her writings. She offers five of Dalloul’s letters that convey her unique and powerful writing voice, at once providing evocative and devastating imagery, accounts of daily struggles, existential reckonings, and reflections on better days. With her moving writings, Dalloul manages to capture hearts and minds, reminding readers of the limitless capacity of human thought, reflection, and emotion, even in the midst of unrelenting horror.
