Organized jointly by Arab Center Washington DC and the Institute for Palestine Studies, this webinar is the first in a two-part series assessing the implications of the Palestinian elections of 2021. Speakers will cover issues related to the logistics of the elections and the challenges of holding them under occupation in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, the competing parties and their political platforms, the representativeness of the elections within the Palestinian geopolitical context, Palestinian public opinion of the elections, and the likelihood of the elections taking place considering the political concerns of the rival factions as well as of Israel. The second webinar in this series will take place on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, and will focus on exploring the impact of the 2021 elections on the political future of Palestine (an announcement of the second webinar will be distributed soon).
