IPS, among its other research activities, has long been a pioneer
in the attempt to make information concerning the Arab-Israeli conflict
readily available to a wide range of people.
In the 1960s and 1970s, IPS published a regular monthly digest in
Arabic of translations from the Hebrew press, the first of its kind
in the Arab world. IPS has continued this trend by translating important
Hebrew and English sources into Arabic.
IPS also commissions original studies and research for publication
in Arabic, English, and French concerning Palestinian
history and heritage, as well as current
political events in the area. The most recent such endeavor has
been a series of research papers on final status issues (e.g., Jerusalem,
the settlements, refugees, water rights, etc.) of the Palestinian-Israeli
peace negotiations.
