The
sources of The Institute for Palestine Studies funding, in descending order of magnitude, are income
from its endowment, sales of its publications, and contributions from
individual donors and private corporations, both Arab and international.
The endowment was set up in the 1960s and 1970s with one-time gifts
from various Arab donors, including governments, corporations, and
individuals.
For receiving contributions from American donors, the Friends of The Institute for Palestine Studies (FIPS) was incorporated in Washington on 5 December 1986. FIPS is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes as defined in section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
